ABOUT ARCHITECT
Peter Zumthor (Born 26 April 1943) is a Swiss Architect and winner of the 2009 Pritzker Price
and 2013 RIBA Royal Gold Medal. He was able to incorporate his knowledge of materials into
Modernist Construction and Detailing.
Zumthor adheres to a style consisting of simplistic and subtle use of materials that address the needs and topography of the local community.

Zumthor once explained his process:
"When I start, my first idea for a
 building is with the material.
I believe architecture is about that.
It's not about paper,
it's not about forms. It's about
space and material.”
